Weymouth, Dorset — Organisers of the Brightest Star Community Fun Day are on the hunt for unwanted but good‑condition teddy bears to stock their popular Teddy Tombola, with all proceeds going to the charity Dreamflight.
“After the success of last year’s event we go again… it wasn’t in our plans to do another event of this size, however our arms were twisted and now we find ourselves organising another Brightest Star event,” says local organiser Matt Brown.
The fun day takes place on Saturday 8th August 2026 and will feature a massive lineup of local bands and DJs, as well as stalls, games, and entertainment for the whole family. Organisers are also looking for sponsors, raffle prizes, and stall holders to make the day even bigger and better.
“We’re looking for any unwanted teddies in good condition — big or small, new or pre-loved,” says Matt. “Every bear donated will help us raise vital funds for Dreamflight, which gives seriously ill and disabled children the adventure of a lifetime. I’m more than happy to pick up any donations from in and around Weymouth.”
Residents wishing to donate can email LexiLodge.weymouth@gmail.com to arrange a pickup.
All proceeds from the Brightest Star Community Fun Day will go to Dreamflight, supporting its mission to give children facing serious health challenges an unforgettable experience.
Mark your calendars for a day of fun, music, and community spirit!
The Teddy Tombola has kindly been sponsored by Dorset Felt Roofing Ltd but with extra donations, organisers say they can make this a massive Teddy Tombola.
