Portland Sea Cadets have been awarded the Runner-Up Stephenson Trophy at the South West Area Sea Cadets Conference, held at Weston-Super-Mare Grand Pier. The award, which recognises the best unit in the South West Area as assessed by the Area Officer and Area and District Teams, was presented to nearly 80 competing units. Lt (SCC) Rachel Harris RNR, the Unit Commanding Officer, and Unit Chairperson Mrs Josie Butcher attended the event to collect the accolade.

The achievement highlights the dedication of the unit’s adult volunteers, including the management team, instructional staff and unit assistants, as well as the remarkable accomplishments of the cadets themselves.

The recognition is a reflection of the unit’s commitment to excellence and the positive impact it has on young people in the area.
