A local musician is organising a major charity music event in Weymouth to raise money for a new prosthetic leg.Rob McIlroy is behind Rob McIlroy’s Music Festival, a live music fundraiser taking place on Saturday, March 7, at The Centenary Club in Weymouth.
The event will run from 4pm through to midnight and promises eight hours of live entertainment spanning blues, funk, original music, classical, soul and Latino sounds.
The festival has been organised to raise funds towards a new prosthetic leg for Rob, with all proceeds from the evening going directly towards the cost.
A packed line-up of local talent is set to perform throughout the evening, including Smudge & Judy, Tom Woodward, Pocket Change, Paul Sundt, Paul Sundt & Joe Ryan, Grace & Paul Sharod, Jurassica, Florence Knight, Richey Powers & Wez (The Recks), Rob McIlroy’s Jam Band, and DJ Peanut Pete. The event will also feature three new bands.
Ticket’s are priced at £20 and can be purchased directly from Rob. The event is sponsored by The Red Brick Café, which will also be providing food on the night.
The fundraiser will be held at The Centenary Club, 21 Jubilee Close, Weymouth, Dorset.
