AIR FM CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We recognise our responsibility to take all reasonable steps to protect anyone who engages with our station.

Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to:

• Volunteers
• Presenters
• Staff
• Contractors
• Guests and contributors

It covers all AIR FM CIC activities including broadcasting, events, training and online platforms.

Safeguarding Principles

We believe that:

• Everyone has the right to feel safe
• Abuse and neglect are never acceptable
• Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
• Concerns must be reported, not ignored

Recognising Safeguarding Concerns

Safeguarding concerns may include:

• Physical, emotional or sexual abuse
• Neglect
• Bullying or harassment
• Exploitation
• Inappropriate behaviour or communication

Reporting a Safeguarding Concern

Any safeguarding concern should be reported immediately.

Reports can be made by:

• Speaking to a member of the AIR FM CIC management team
• Emailing: info@air1072.com

If someone is in immediate danger, emergency services should be contacted straight away.

Responding to Concerns

AIR FM CIC will:

• Listen carefully and take concerns seriously
• Record concerns accurately
• Take appropriate action
• Escalate concerns to relevant authorities where required

Confidentiality will be respected but cannot be guaranteed if a concern needs to be shared to protect someone.

Safer Working Practices

We expect all volunteers and contributors to:

• Act professionally at all times
• Avoid inappropriate language or behaviour
• Maintain appropriate boundaries
• Follow station guidelines and policies

Online Safety

Safeguarding applies to online activity including:

• Social media
• Messaging platforms
• Website interaction

Inappropriate content or behaviour will be dealt with promptly.
