Fighters from Grey Ranks Boxing Club delivered an impressive night of boxing in Torremolinos, showcasing their talent on the international stage at the Palacio San Miguel.
Taking on opponents from Postigo Boxing Club, the Weymouth team were involved in a series of competitive and closely fought contests as part of the VIX Combat Series event.
It proved to be a night of mixed results but strong performances across the board:
• Rudy Randall was narrowly defeated on a split decision
• Reuben Allington also lost on a split decision in a closely contested bout
• Akhmed Tagirov secured a convincing win by unanimous decision
• Albert Davies delivered a dominant performance to win by unanimous decision
• Scott Lyones capped the night with an excellent victory, winning by unanimous decision
Lyones’ performance stood out as he showed composure, skill, and determination to secure his win, underlining his growing reputation within the club.
Despite the narrow defeats, the Grey Ranks fighters impressed with their effort and resilience against tough opposition, gaining valuable experience competing abroad.
The team described it as a “fantastic night and great performance,” highlighting the quality of the event and the competitive nature of the bouts.
