A boutique hotel on Weymouth’s seafront has been purchased by actor Quentin Jones.Mr Jones, known for his role as Roger Kiddle in Hollyoaks, has acquired No. 98 Boutique Hotel alongside his partner Claudine Phelps. The leasehold was sold for £549,950.
The sale was handled by Lawrence Wright. Sue Coughlan, who represented the agency, said it was the third time she had sold the business in the past 25 years. She added that the new ownership could help attract additional visitors to Weymouth.
The property is a refurbished Georgian townhouse located on The Esplanade, opposite the Jubilee Clock. It operates as a boutique bed and breakfast with nine en-suite rooms. The site also includes a rear garage with planning permission to convert the roof space into a holiday flat.
Ms Coughlan noted that several guest houses and catering businesses in Weymouth have recently gone under offer, indicating renewed confidence in the local hospitality sector. She also said that upcoming increases in business rates are not expected to affect smaller businesses due to existing exemptions.
Before appearing in Hollyoaks, Mr Jones played Declan Byrne in the Channel 5 series Family Affairs from 1999 to 2001. His later work includes a role in the film Is Harry on the Boat?.
He has also worked in the United States, appearing in the Lionsgate horror film Dead and Gone, the short film Mirror Image, and Fight Night.
