A busy road in Weymouth is set to remain closed for almost three weeks while essential works are carried out. Spa Road has been closed between its junctions with Dorchester Road and Radipole Park Drive to allow SGN (Southern Gas Networks) to safely carry out works in the area. The project will be completed in stages, with Spa Road scheduled to remain closed from March 2 until March 20.

Once Spa Road reopens, further works will move to the nearby Queens Road, which is due to close between March 16 and April 2.

SGN has said the closures will be publicised in several ways. Information boards will be placed in the area to alert motorists to the works, while letters will be delivered to residents directly affected.

A signed diversion route will also be in place, directing vehicles along the surrounding local road network.
