One Premium Bonds holder in Dorset scooped a £100,000 prize in the latest draw. While only two bondholders across the UK win the top £1 million prize each month, thousands of smaller prizes are also awarded.

Although there were no £1 million winners from Dorset in the February draw, one local saver did secure a £100,000 payout. The winning bond was 607HZ146895, linked to a total holding of £48,650, with the prize-winning bond valued at £18,000.

Across the county, prizes in the draw were distributed as follows:

  • £100,000 – 1 winner
  • £50,000 – 1 winner
  • £25,000 – 2 winners
  • £10,000 – 9 winners
  • £5,000 – 17 winners
  • £1,000 – 197 winners

In total, Dorset residents collected £572,000 in prize money during the March 2026 draw, which is lower than the £874,000 won in February.

How to check if you’ve won

Bondholders can find out if they have won by checking their account through the NS&I website.

Premium Bonds prize draws take place every month, with winnings ranging from smaller amounts up to the £1 million jackpot.

To check if you have won a prize, you will need your holder’s number, which can be found on your bond record or in the NS&I app.

Alternatively, you can use your NS&I number, which appears on correspondence such as letters or emails relating to your bonds.

How Premium Bonds winners are chosen

According to NS&I, winners are selected using a system known as ERNIE (Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment).

The latest version of the technology uses quantum processes involving light to generate the huge number of random numbers required for each monthly draw, completing the process in around 20 minutes.

NS&I explains: “Using light, ERNIE 5 generates random numbers that are matched against eligible Bond numbers to determine the lucky winners.

“And because it’s random, every Bond number, whether it has 8, 9, 10 or 11 digits, has a separate and equal chance of winning a prize.”
