Hundreds of runners took part in a prehistoric-themed charity event at the weekend as the Dino Run returned to Weymouth in support of the Will Mackaness Trust.
Organised by #WeAreWeymouth, the popular Chase the Dinosaur event saw participants of all ages don dinosaur-themed outfits and race through the town, raising funds for the much-loved local charity.
The Mayor of Weymouth, Cllr Caroline Nickinson, was on hand to present medals to finishers, joined by Weymouth’s own Faithful James Baker, who recently appeared on the hit BBC series The Traitors.
Speaking after the event, the Mayor said:
“It was a pleasure to attend the Chase the Dinosaur event on Saturday and wonderful to see so many people taking part to have fun whilst supporting the Will Mackaness Trust, which is such a worthy cause.”
She also thanked James Baker for helping to hand out prizes to race winners, adding that his support added to the excitement of the day.
The event combined community spirit, creativity and fundraising, with organisers praising everyone who took part and contributed to the success of the day.
With costumes, medals and plenty of smiles, the Dino Run once again proved to be a roaring success for Weymouth’s events calendar.
