Councillors from Chickerell Town Council were recently given a behind-the-scenes look at key infrastructure improvements taking place in the town during a visit to the Wessex Water works site at Pavilion Field. The tour offered an insight into the essential upgrades currently being made to the foul sewer system, which are designed to strengthen the resilience of the network serving the local community.
Representatives from Wessex Water explained how the project will help improve reliability and future-proof the system, ensuring it can better cope with demand and environmental pressures.
Councillors heard that the work is progressing well and remains on schedule, with completion expected towards the end of April.
The visit was attended by Cllr Sue Seal, Mo Newport, Lollie Higginbottom and Nicola Briar, who were able to see first-hand the scale of the engineering work underway.
Chickerell Town Council thanked Wessex Water for hosting the visit and for its continued investment in improving local infrastructure.
The council is also keen to hear from residents who may be interested in taking part in a similar site tour in the future. Anyone interested is invited to comment on the council’s post or contact the town clerk via townclerk@chickerell-tc.gov.uk.
The initiative aims to help keep residents informed and connected with projects affecting the town.
