RNLI volunteers in Weymouth responded to more than ninety callouts last year. New figures show crews launched lifeboats ninety three times in twenty twenty five. They helped forty one people along the local coastline. The RNLI is now urging visitors to stay safe as the busy summer season approaches.
Volunteer crews at Weymouth Lifeboat Station responded to 93 callouts during 2025.
Newly released figures show the RNLI assisted a total of 41 people across the year.
The station’s inshore B class lifeboat launched 54 times, helping 16 people in incidents close to the coast.
Meanwhile, the all-weather lifeboat Ernest and Mabel was launched 39 times, assisting 25 people in more challenging offshore conditions.
The figures highlight the vital role played by volunteer crews in a busy coastal area.
RNLI teams remain on call 24 hours a day, ready to respond in all weather conditions.
With the summer season approaching and more visitors expected along the Jurassic Coast, the RNLI is reminding people to take precautions before heading out to sea.
This includes checking weather and tide conditions, carrying the right safety equipment and letting someone know their plans.
The charity says its lifesaving work relies on public support to provide training, equipment and facilities for its crews.
