Weymouth police appeal after boy kicked

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was assaulted in Weymouth town centre. Officers say the incident happened outside Boots in St Thomas Street at around half past six on Saturday, March seventh. It was reported that a man who appeared to be intoxicated approached a fifteen year old boy and kicked him on the ankle. The boy was not seriously hurt, and police are now asking anyone who saw what happened to come forward. Information can also be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously.

Weymouth police are appealing for witnesses after a 15-year-old boy was kicked outside Boots in St Thomas Street.

 

Dorset Police said the assault was reported to have happened at around 6.30pm on Saturday, March 7, in the town centre. Officers say a man who “appeared to be intoxicated” approached the teenager and kicked him on the ankle during the incident.

 

The boy did not suffer serious injuries, but police have now renewed their appeal as enquiries continue to identify the man involved. A force spokesperson said officers are “continuing to investigate a report of an assault on a teenage boy in Weymouth town centre” and are still trying to trace the person responsible.

 

Police believe a number of people were in the area at the time and may have seen what happened. They are asking witnesses, or anyone with information that could help, to get in touch.
