Public toilets at Overcombe in Weymouth have reopened following refurbishment work completed over the weekend.

Weymouth Town Council confirmed the facility has returned to use after upgrades to improve accessibility, lighting and efficiency, with the block reopening for residents and visitors after a temporary closure while work was carried out.

The improvements include refurbishment of the disabled toilets, installation of a new ventilation system and the addition of sensor flushes and taps designed to improve hygiene and reduce water use within the building.

LED lighting has also been installed, making the facilities brighter while helping reduce energy use as part of the refurbishment carried out at the site.

An electronic payment system has also been introduced, allowing visitors to pay using a bank card or smartphone, while anyone using a radar key will continue to have access to the accessible toilet.

A water refill station has also been installed outside the toilet block and the council thanked members of the public for their patience during the temporary closure.
