A familiar local radio voice is returning to the air in Weymouth. Dave Goulden is joining Air Dorset to host a weekday afternoon show from the town centre studios. Weymouth is set to hear a familiar voice again as presenter Dave Goulden joins Air Dorset’s expanding schedule.
Dave Goulden, known for hosting a long-running drive-time show on Wessex FM in Dorchester, will present The Home Run each weekday afternoon from the station’s town centre studios, bringing listener interaction, competitions and regular travel updates to the programme. Alongside this, he will host a weekend show focused on rock, indie, Britpop, alternative music and emerging artists, adding variety to the station’s output.
His appointment is part of ongoing plans to build a stronger local schedule, with experienced presenters returning to connect with audiences across the area. Air’s chief executive Jamie Lyones said it is “great to have Dave onboard,” adding he brings “a wealth of knowledge and experience” in both presenting and production, marking “another step up” for the station.
Dave said he is looking forward to returning to local broadcasting and reflecting the area in his shows, highlighting festivals, live music, hospitality venues and local businesses. He added he “can’t wait” to bring engaging radio back to listeners.
