Residents in Weymouth are being urged to nominate local volunteers for this year’s Mayor’s Community Awards. The awards recognise individuals or groups who go the extra mile to help others in the community. Nominations close at midday on April twenty second. Winners will be invited to receive their awards at a council meeting in May.
Residents in Weymouth are being encouraged to nominate local volunteers for the 2026 Mayor’s Community Awards.
The awards recognise individuals or groups who make a positive difference in the community.
Mayor of Weymouth Councillor Caroline Nickinson said the town is full of people who do incredible work to support others.
She urged residents to put forward nominations before the deadline.
Both the person making the nomination and the nominee must live within the Weymouth Town Council boundary.
Nominees must also provide voluntary support within the area and cannot be serving councillors or council staff.
If the nominee is under the age of 18, permission must be obtained from a parent or guardian.
Nominations can be made by contacting a local ward councillor and explaining why the individual or group deserves recognition.
Shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend Weymouth Town Council’s Full Council meeting in May to receive a certificate from the Mayor.
The deadline for nominations is midday on Wednesday 22 April.
