Appeal after dog walker assaulted on Portland

Police are appealing for witnesses after a dog walker was assaulted on Portland. The incident happened on Chesil Beach near Portland Beach Road. A woman in her twenties was attacked after two dogs reportedly targeted her pet. Officers are asking anyone who saw what happened or recognises the man involved to come forward.

Police are appealing for information following an incident where a dog walker was assaulted on Portland.

The woman, aged in her twenties, was walking with her black flat-coated retriever on Chesil Beach near Portland Beach Road.

She was walking away from the visitor centre towards Portland when another dog, believed to be a staffy or terrier cross, approached and attacked her dog.

A second white staffy or terrier-type dog then joined the attack.

During the incident, a man approached and reportedly shouted aggressively at the victim before grabbing her around the neck.

The man is described as being in his 50s or 60s with grey or white hair tied back.

He was wearing a blue Weird Fish top and jeans.

Police are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may know the identity of the man involved to get in touch.
