About AIR

AIR is Dorset’s community radio station — broadcasting across Weymouth and Portland on 107.2 FM, online, and through our dedicated live events stream, AIR Xtra.

Founded in 2011 as an online station before securing its FM licence in 2012, AIR was built to give the community a voice — and that mission still drives everything we do.

Who’s Behind AIR?

AIR is operated by AIR FM Community Interest Company, a not for profit organisation serving the local area.

The station is led by Carl Greenham, Managing Director, who returned to steer AIR into a bold new chapter of stronger local news, bigger sport coverage and a sharper sound.

Working alongside him is Commercial Director Jamie Lyones, building partnerships and helping secure a sustainable future for truly local broadcasting.

Behind the scenes is a passionate team of presenters, volunteers and contributors who power the station every day.

AIR Xtra

AIR Xtra is our dedicated live stream for sports commentary, music festivals and major community events.

It runs online as its own channel and key moments can be brought onto FM when needed — giving us total flexibility to cover Dorset properly, without compromise.
